Week 3: Social networking
Alright, so my daughter thought it was a creative April Fools joke when I created a bogus account on Facebook and asked to be her "friend". She blocked me I am glad to say. It was really fascinating to read her web page on Facebook. It would really take me a bit of time to get that up to speed. I am now even more interested in the segment that we will be doing now that I have groups that want a picture of me. Denver's teen page on MySpace is really appropriate to their clientele and I have been wondering really how successful having such a page would be for a hospital library. As a solo librarian, I fear the time commitment but I wonder if I could start small with our current web page. How far could I go with our IS department? Possibilities are starting to formulate. I can see that I would like to continue interacting with other class members after we are done with the course to see what changes they have made in their services or delivery.
